2023 Weisman Award Exhibition
The completion of a significant body of work marks the passage from experimentation and exploration to the making of a singular artistic statement. This exhibition on display in The Center Galleries highlights the diverse work of the twelve 2023 Weisman Award recipients.
The Albert P. Weisman Award supports advanced undergraduate and graduate students to complete a substantial media-based project. The Award was established in 1974 and is named after Al Weisman— journalist, publicist, teacher, mentor, and trustee of Columbia College Chicago.
This work represents diverse perspectives, disciplines, and media,and explores socio-political and ecological issues, expression of identity, representation of marginalized groups and our connection to spirituality.
